At the QS Summit 2025, held at Dusit Thani Manila, Hearn & Hearn Consulting joined a dynamic gathering of professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the ASEAN region. The summit’s theme, “Unlocking the ASEAN Gem: Creating a Better Future Amidst Challenges in the Built Environment,” was more than a slogan; it was a call to action.
The conversations were rich and urgent. With ASEAN’s economy surging ahead, the built environment faces pressure to evolve technologically, ethically, and collaboratively. One of the most pressing concerns raised was corruption in infrastructure spending, a challenge that continues to undermine progress and public trust. The Philippine Domestic Construction Board’s proposed anti-corruption strategy, which centers on institutionalizing quantity surveying in government projects, was mentioned at the summit and is a bold step toward reform.
For Hearn & Hearn, the summit reaffirmed a core belief: quantity surveyors are not just technical experts, they are stewards of integrity.
As an RICS -regulated firm, we see our role expanding beyond cost management to becoming advocates for transparency, accountability, and nation-building.
In a region poised for transformation, Hearn & Hearn remains committed to shaping a future where construction is not only efficient and innovative but also just. The summit was a reminder that the real value we bring lies in our unwavering commitment to the public good.
Let’s keep driving progress that builds trust, transparency, and a better ASEAN.
